The Rotary Club of Newcastle through District 7810 offers students ages 15 - 19 the opportunity to take
part in either a short term or long term exchange. The short term exchange takes place during the summer months and
entails local students being paired up with an international student and each of them spending 5 weeks with the other and
their family. The long term exchange is for one year and the student travels to another country, lives with host families
and attends a local school.
Students that have been involved in the exchanges describe it as a wonderful opportunity
to travel to another country and learn about different cultures. It is definitely a memorable experience for young people.
The annual Chinese New Years Dinner is held to raise funds for the Youth Exchange Program.
