Rotary is an association of local clubs gathered into a larger organization, Rotary International, and is the worlds first service club organization. A Rotarian, the heart and soul of Rotary, is a member of his/her local club. The Rotary Club of Newcastle, Club 6346, received its charter on June 7, 1943. Our first president was Perley E. Roy.
The Rotary Club of Newcastle meets every Wednesday, 12:00 noon at Howard Johnson Inn & Suites, 1 Jane Street, Miramichi, New Brunswick.
The Rotary Foundation was established by Rotary in 1928 as an educational and charitable trust for doing good in the world. Since its inception, the Rotary Foundation has shown continuous growth. The Rotary Foundation has proven to be a tangible and effective means of furthering the objectives of the following programs: Scholarships, Group Study Exchanges, Special Grants, Grants for University Teachers, Health, Hunger and Humanity Grants, global eradication of polio, and disaster relief.
